Experience You Can Count On
Our therapists qualifications include:
Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC)
The LPC, or licensed professional counselor, designation indicates that a mental health counselor is duly licensed by the state in which he practices. A counselor must obtain a state license before providing services as a solo practitioner or unsupervised employee. Each state has specific licensing requirements for counselors. These requirements include post-graduate education as well as actual experience and passing one or more standardized tests.
Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC)
A provisionally licensed professional counselor is a master's level clinician who is undergoing the supervision process and will be fully licensed once that is complete. A PLPC has also successfully completed and passed the NCE.
Licensed Addictions Counselor (LAC)
Addiction counselors help patients overcome dependence on drugs, alcohol, and destructive behaviors like gambling. Counselors intervene when patients are often at their lowest points in their struggles with addiction. A certified drug and alcohol counselor may also work with the families of addicts to assist the healing process. These professionals may work in outpatient facilities, inpatient rehabilitation centers, halfway houses, or hospitals.
